How long has NutriFit™ been in business?
NutriFit™ was founded in 1987 by Jackie Keller, nutrition and wellness coach, educator and culinary expert, best-selling author of Body After Baby, A Simple, Healthy Plan to Lose Your Baby Weight Fast (Avery/Penguin Group; May 2007), and Cooking, Eating & Living Well, a cookbook and guide to nutrition-related lifestyle change. How does the NutriFit™ meal service work?
NutriFit™ selects your personalized meals based on your food preferences by using our database of over 2,000 recipes and delivers them to you up to three times per week.

Why is the NutriFit™ meal delivery service different from other meal delivery services?
It is our mission to help people achieve their personal health goals through fully customized fresh meals, tailored to everyone's individual preferences and lifestyle.

You have the ability to rate all the meals you receive, which will contribute to your future menus, and all clients are appointed their own plan advisor to assist with your meal program and answer questions.

NutriFit™ offers additional services to help you succeed, including metabolic testing, body composition analysis, cooking classes, virtual coaching, wellness coaching and nutrition guidance, as well as an array of fitness products, health manuals, books, our own salt and sugar-free spice blends, energy bars and options for family style ordering.

Additionally, we have a vast network of health professionals (fitness and medical experts) who are ready to join your health enhancement team.

How much does meal delivery cost?
Generally, breakfast, lunch and dinner (which includes morning snack, afternoon snack, soup or salad and dessert or evening snack) is $44.95 a day on our pre-pay monthly rate. Pricing is determined by the number of meals you receive daily and your desired billing frequency. Plans start at $22.95/day. Meal service is subject to sales tax.

What kind of food can I expect?
NutriFit™ creates delicious, freshly prepared, energy enhancing and balanced meals. You can expect to receive a variety of proteins, grains, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats based on your food preferences.

How soon can I begin meal delivery?
Usually service begins within 2-business days of a telephone conversation to confirm your delivery, as long as we have all your information.

Do I need to order breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week?
No, we modify the meal plan to fit your lifestyle. We will help you find the right plan for you.

Can I look at menus or pick my meals in advance?
We create thousands of meals that are all different using your personal profile and health goals. In addition, we also take into consideration what is available and fresh from our suppliers on a daily basis. This precludes us from showing what you will receive ahead of time.

How much weight will I lose?
This is entirely dependent on how many meals you receive from us, what you eat on your non-NutriFit™ days and how much exercise you do. We recommend losing weight at a safe pace of one to two pounds per week. Your results may vary.

How long will it take me to lose weight?
This depends on several different factors, including those outlined above.

What if I don't want to lose weight, but I need to maintain or gain weight?
Everyone benefits from healthy eating, whether you need to lose, maintain or gain weight. We're here to help you with your specific needs, whatever they may be.

How are my calories determined?
From a combination of your age, height, weight and exercise level.

What percentage of protein, fat and carbohydrates are in your meals?
Generally our meals contain 20% lean protein, 20% healthy fat and 60% favorable carbohydrates, but is dependent on your needs.

How are my meals delivered - fresh or frozen?
All your meals are prepared and delivered fresh, never frozen.

What is your delivery range?
NutriFit™ serves the greater Los Angeles area, Orange County, Santa Clarita and some of Ventura County in Southern California. Please call with any specific delivery location questions as special delivery arrangements can be made to cover other areas.

How often and when will my meals be delivered?
We deliver your meals in the early morning hours of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in iced cooler bags.

Monday deliveries include Monday's and Tuesday's meals. Wednesday includes Wednesday's and Thursday's meals. Friday includes Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's meals.

Is there a minimum order for delivery?
Delivery is free in the aforementioned areas with a $50 minimum order value. There may be an additional charge for outlying areas.

What forms of payment do you accept? Will you take personal checks or cash?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX, but unfortunately we cannot take personal checks or cash.

What if I live in an apartment or security building?
We will need access to your front door and may need a key or access code to gain entry.

Can I get meals delivered at alternate locations, such as home and work?
Absolutely - call by noon of the previous delivery day in order to make changes to the affected meal period (i.e. call us noon on Friday for any changes you need to make to your Monday delivery).

How can you guarantee the safety of my meals?
All cooler bags come with tamper-evident safety seals. If the safety seal has been tampered with, please call us immediately.

Will my meals be safe until I can put them in the fridge?
Yes - the cooler bag with ice is designed to keep your meals insulated for up to 8 hours, however, we recommend you take them out and refrigerate them by 8:00 am.

How will I know which meal to eat and when?
All meals and snacks are clearly labeled indicating meal type (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), name of meal and day to be eaten.

How do I heat the meals?
All meals that require heating can be done in the containers they arrive in by using a microwave oven, a conventional oven, or a skillet.

Can I freeze the meals?
Many meals can be frozen. Your personalized label will tell you whether it can be frozen or not. The meal containers are not airtight, so we suggest using a freezer bag in order to preserve the food.

What do I do with the empty bag, ice blocks and meal containers?
Please leave the cooler bag and ice blocks out the night before your next delivery. Your driver will take the empty cooler bag with the ice blocks and replace it with new deliciously fresh meals. Also, we would appreciate it if you could please recycle the empty meal containers. These can also be used for storage or donated to a school.

How will I be billed?
You may choose to be billed weekly at our standard rate, or monthly at a discounted pre-pay rate. Billing cycles will renew automatically unless you call to cancel with appropriate notice.

What is the cancellation policy?
As with any changes to your plan, you may cancel your service as long as you call by noon of the previous delivery day (that is, Monday for Wednesday deliveries, Wednesday for Friday deliveries and Friday for Monday deliveries).

What if I have to go out of town?
No problem. Simply call us by noon of the previous delivery day in order to make changes to your meals or schedule for the affected meal period (as outlined above).

Can I cancel just one meal, or do I have to cancel an entire day?
You do not need to cancel an entire day of meals, only the ones you want to skip.

How do I make changes to my meal plan?
Simply call or email your plan advisor. We will confirm the changes so you know their effective date.

Do I need to input a credit card number if I sign up online?
No, we do not need your credit card information until you have spoken to a plan advisor and are set up to receive your first delivery.

Do I get snacks too?
Yes, full meal plans (breakfast, lunch and dinner) come with a morning, afternoon and an evening snack (instead of dessert, if desired).

Where are NutriFit™ ingredients purchased?
Our premium suppliers include Santa Monica Seafood, Rogers Poultry, West Los Angeles Farmer's Markets, Whole Foods, Bristol Farms and Trader Joe's.

Are organic ingredients used?
We use organic ingredients wherever possible. Completely organic meals are available for an additional charge.

Can I get vegetarian or vegan meals?
Yes, both are available. Some meal plans may require an additional charge.

Do you support the Zone or Atkins diets?
We support the Zone diet but not Atkins.

I have several food allergies; can accommodations be made?
Yes. Depending on the level of accommodation, an additional charge may apply.

Do you have diets for specific medical conditions?
We specialize across the spectrum by helping people with their specific nutritional needs. We have customized programs for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Can I see if I like the meals before making a commitment?
Absolutely, try us for one delivery at our standard rate before deciding on the type of service you desire.

What if I don't like the food I receive?
Your feedback is important to us and our plan advisors can work with you to find what works best. Also, all deliveries come with a menu where you can rate the meals and will be reviewed when it is returned to us in your empty cooler bag. All items marked 'pass' will be excluded from your profile and you will not receive it again.

What promotions/discounts can I take advantage of?
We offer seasonal promotions to all our current and past clients. Please call and ask about current promotions/discounts.

What if I'm hungry or there's too much food for me to eat?
Just let us know! We will work with you to adjust your portion size accordingly.

Do I need to speak to my physician before I begin NutriFit™?
It is always advisable to speak to your physician before beginning a program, particularly if you're planning on losing weight or if you have a specific medical condition.

Is family style available?
Yes, NutriFit™ offers family style meals for all personalized meal delivery service clients.

Are children's menus offered?
NutriFit™ can accommodate the whole family, including little ones and finicky eaters.

Do you have a referral program?
NutriFit™ says 'thanks' for referring new clients by depositing two days of meal credits into your account, or three days for recommending two people who receive food at the same address.

Where is your kitchen located - can I take a tour?
NutriFit™ is located in West Los Angeles, near the 10 and 405 freeways. You are more than welcome to schedule a time to stop by if you wish to see our facility; we love to meet our clients face to face. We are proud of our kitchen and enjoy the opportunity to show it to our clients and friends.

Can I add seasoning?
Our meals are prepared with a minimal amount of salt for health reasons; however, you may choose to add spices as desired. We make our own salt and sugar-free spice blends that are available for purchase.

Do I need supplements while eating NutriFit™ meals?
NutriFit™ does not recommend taking 'diet pills' but we do suggest taking a multivitamin and an omega-3 fatty acid supplement. Ask your health care provider for your specific needs.

What should I drink?
Being properly hydrated by drinking adequate water (and avoiding excess caffeine) is a critical part of nutritional health. We recommend you drink water even before signs of thirst appear (8-10 glasses daily). Minimize your consumption of alcoholic beverages and add in green tea daily.
